to start out with some puns...
1. I am the one melting this year not frosty
2. Santa might as well put me at the front of the sled since Rudolph's nose and mine match..
hehe
we live in a four some right.so one of the other sisters
(from chili) this is here last transfer in the mission so she wanted to
do something special in our Christmas program next week. well its a
talent show right, well she wants to sing and naturally asks me to do
it with her (she knows im a sucker... she has one month left I cant let
her down..) so I decided to write lyrics to our good old Christmas songs
back home so we could sing them... something fun and upbeat. nothing
like a good laugh...
To the famous tune, 12 days of Christmas
On the first day of my mission president carter gave to me
1. key indicators to keep me busy
On the next day of my mission Argentina gave to me
2. smelly zapatos and (key indic.....)
On the next day of my mission Argentina gave to me.....
dulce de leche (smelly zapators, key...)
On the next day of my mission Argentina gave to me.....
crowed collatevos (dulce de leche, smelly, key)
On the next day of my mission Argentina gave to me.....
swarming mosquitos (get the picture)
to the tune of up on the roof top...
down here in Argentina the people are great we put them all on baptismal date.
no matter the weather rain or shine, were going to do our best in this short time.
fuuu fuuu fuu more pasta on my plate.. fu fuu fuu missions are great. ohhhh
down here in Argentina the people are grand, lets go and teach them about gods plan.
to the tune of deck the halls....
plan the day with lots of lessons... fulualalalaalalal
read the scriptures pray and sing... fulalalalalalala
use the four points get a fetcha (date in spanish). flalalalalallaaa
three familias are progressing. flahahahahaha
the night before Christmas...
it was December in the mission and all through the day i was
looking for people to show them gods way. my stockings are hanging all
ready to dry and ill im really thinking about is marie calenders pie.
The people are snuggled all up in their beds, while the sun is in the
sky beating down on our heads ( i didn't finish... still in the
process..)
So we get up to preform my master pieces, and I must
say nailed it! well after we finish tunes out this is a a very serious
spiritual talent show... oops.. hahah my cherry face matched my
sunburn.. haha well so we arent performing these songs, but I now have
things to entertain me while I walk in the streets. from it hermana
carter also gave me 10 speaking parts in the program for the entire
mission and put me in the 15 person choir. so i am a big part of this
years Christmas in the mission and very excited for it! Lets just hope I
dont say exposed like I did in the practice when talking about Mary...
yup its espoused... Next week is going to be big as we also get to go
to the temple on pday. (again no emails)
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!! and the rest i will probably just wait to tell you then!!! Love you, ho hohoh
THE TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS, By Hermana Alley
I dedicated each day to a family member.
four down!!
Enjoy and go give someone a fabulous Christmas!
ok ok one more...
this is a little bit about my week in the missionary none Christmas world...
we did a lot of door knocking this week and found some great new investigators. on Friday
we were finally able to contact an inactive member whose whole family
aren't members. and the miracle, they let us inside their home! we
gained a strong relationship with them and that night when our ward had a
Christmas dinner they showed up! in Fact we had eight investigators
attend the evening!! It was an incredible evening, but alas the clock
stroke 15 minutes to 9 and we headed out, leaving them in the members
care. Then next day when talking with them it turns out, everything ran
smoothly and they enjoyed the evening. now to get that same group of
investigators to Church... two days later not one made it, after even
committing. I honestly don't know how to better help the investigators
attend church. we stop by, call practically every day and they all know
specific members really well... This week hermana vicente and I are
going to ask a lot ex missionaries what worked best of them, because
literally we are drawing a blank. That is all we focus our lessons on
and I feel like I have used every method.
On two different occasions this week we were let
into peoples houses on the first contact. After talking with them and
gaining their confidence they mentioned how they have seen missionaries
before, some from our Church others different religions, but never let
them in. So why us? Well both said that they saw something different
in us, felt something different. They felt, peaceful. This is the best
compliment I think I have ever received in my life. To have a name tag
that tells people you are a representative of the church is one thing,
but to have it show in your countenance (ooo I am forgetting how to spell
in English) is another. This Christmas spirit here in Argentina is
great, I am enjoying the season, and love sharing Christs story. The
true meaning of Christmas and the best eternal gift. I would be ok if
Christmas lasted all year long. It is a wonderful time to be a
missionary.
