Another One Bites the Dust

Why the title, well in this very strange warped time missionary world two months has gone by today.  It's my "click day" meaning I entered the missionary life on this very day a couple of months earlier.  it's also my companions 8th click day so we are going to celebrate, what that involves, we have not quite yet determined, however it is only 10:40:)  so this week was a success in my mind.  A lot of service opportunities, and a lot of great laughs.  to Start with my highlight of the week was berry picking.  for relief society on Tuesday we went to a house FULL of bushes.  Now I didn't know that Washington was covered in these little bundles of heaven.  BLACK BERRIES. Large gushy and delicious.  We had Two investigators come as well, and had so much fun giggling at fighting of the nastiest spiders while trying to get the unresistant berries.
"BERRY PICKING!!!! YUMMMY!!!!!!"

It was definitely a win win situation because we came away with enough to make us rich.  we filled an entire bucket.  So with it a lady made us jam, and the rest we have frozen. I tell you what it was worth the bugs, and I came out with tiny scratches covering me and thorns in unpleasant places but a smile on my face.
Wednesday included a Zone conference.
You do not know long meetings until you've been on a mission.  Six wompin hours, serious numb bum.  however it didn't feel quite that long, and they fed us:)  At the very end our loving President Choi and his Wife sang "love one another" in Korean and I don't honestly think there was a dry eye in the bunch.  They make me cry, laugh, and feel the spirit so strongly, I've really grown to love them.  Seattle is like a mini Asia.  And I really love the diversity around every corner.  Yesterday (Sunday) we had dinner with a Chinese family who literally invited every Chinese person in the area.  on the best note ever, we had part member families and family friends who aren't LDS, so it became an excellent opportunity to bare testimony and teach the gospel through word and example.  It was a feast, and a LOT OF SEAFOOD.  Dad and mom you'd be so proud I branched out and chose two things to try out of the normal which is more than my companions did.  The first, was some sort of fish deep-fried.  Deep-fried was a safe option in my mind:)  Well I loved whatever it was, couldn't tell you.  It was a deep grayish color?  who knows.  The second looked like an innocent spring roll... oh no no it was squid.  rapped in some kind of bread.  Nothing but pure slim as it went down my through.  Oh it was nasty.... blah!!  I've never shoved ham fried rice and juice in my mouth so fast.  But I can say I've tried it, cross it off my list, and never return to that taste.

We had an incredible lesson with Molly.  She's the same age as me, and her friend will be heading on her mission in a week to Brazil.  The elders gave us as a referral. With a set appointment, she knew we were coming so her mom made us pie.  How nice is that?!  what a way to start out a lesson.  her mom is Lutheran.  I tell you what all the Lutherans I've meant so far are very nice people, I enjoy their company.  So we discussed with her the restoration and answered any questions she had about the gospel and missionary work.  Her friend was their along with another none member friend.  Her friend continually testified and her testimony was extremely powerful. She will be an extraordinary missionary.  Molly was very open to everything we were saying and was more than welcoming to having us come back.  She's committed to reading the Book of Mormon and praying.  She heads back to school at Stanford in a few weeks so we hope to make progress with her fast.  the three of them are adorable and invited the spirit in the room so easily.  This was my first legit lesson and it couldn't have gone any better.  Taking about the gospel brings sure happiness into the room, and I can never stop smiling.  I think people know that....  I love this extremely difficult work. I know some weeks it probably doesn't sound like I do, But I do.

We finished off the week with a service day.  We moved two families, and pruned black Rose bushes (I learn something new everyday!!)  service is probably my favorite activity because people instantly can see that our intentions are good, and you really start to love the people when you serve them,

Thanks for the support, love, and letters:)

LOVE YOU LOTS!!!
" I'm improving my cooking skills!  a man in the ward gives us meat all the time, this week STEAK!  I pounded it and made it all juicy and tender than took random spices from the cupboard and sprinkled them on.  Yes it happened to be raining when we ventured out to grill them, but they turned out not half bad!  I've decided cooking lessons are in my future:)  "
"Second, I have decided I am getting a bunnie when I get home.  They are adorable and I miss my little nibbles.  So I can't hold the children, fine. I'll hold the bunnies!:)  also, mom everyone here in Washington owns a dog.  So I figure i'll get my petting and puppy licks in here before I head to Argentina. these dogs I can play with:) "
