Ok
so Really I could go on for hours about how much I needed conference to
lift my spirits. A big piece of home sweet home from people called of
God! can I just tell you I teared up when the skies of salt lake
appeared on the big screen. Skies here are not blue... The rich clear
sky I miss dearly. And I just wanted to give the Prophet a hug when he
was talking about his sweet heart. He is such a great example of how a
husband should love a wife and how a family should function. A fun
thing my companion and I did during the break on Saturday
was visit a taco bus. Up a literal bus made into a Mexican restaurant.
It was delicious and Stephen you would have loved it... it's some
excellent food. Ever had Hispanic hot choco? no? well you are missing
out because I am IN LOVE with it. in between sessions on Sunday
we had a mixed lunch at the branch. We share our ward with the
tongans. so if you can image the two food options it was a full blown
fiesta! I've never eaten so much wonderful tasting food in my life.
haha I don't need to eat for days because of it.
So besides general conference not much happened to
be honest. Ok lot's happened but nothing really out of the same old.
call it a boring week if you may and i'll most likely agree. We knocked
all day everyday.. we set up some return appointments but the issue
with those is they never answer when we return. the biggest issues here
i'm finding is getting people to attend church on Sundays and getting
people married. Two things that seem so obviously easy in my culture
back home. Well that isn't the case here... When knocking this week We
ran into two more preachers... I'm telling you I "teach" more of these
men than anyone else. after a long heated discussion from their end on
the book of Mormon and me calmly trying to bare testimony of it I had to
explain how we had to return home for curfew.... well He thought I said
confused instead of curfew... oh dear. another 15 minutes later they
finally let us leave and all I could do was laugh it off. Now I know
the importance of using the correct word. Two sisters attempting to
learn Spanish with two men attempting to learn English throw in a gospel
discussion and things get intense!!!
well that about concludes the
highlights of my week! hope you all enjoyed conference, I was thinking
of you home in your pjs with goodies and moms new obsession with nuts
talking in her newly adopted accent! love you all:)
Hermana Alley!
Also stephen I recieved one killer letter from you. Thanks a buddle!! :)
