¨¨its
being to look a lot like.... The world cup... everywhere you go! theres
argentine flags to sell, jerseys and hats as well, the loud horns that
wake sleeping missionaries... its beginning to look a like world cup.!¨¨
YES FOLKS, its true, this week starts the amazing,
makes normal people go crazy, event. yesterday we started out with the
first game and not one soul was out and about, president banished every
missionary to their own home at seven oclock.
and about 9 the streets when wild as we celebrated the win. We joined
in from the balcony with our shirits and beenies! little do they know
we didnt watch it... haha we have a call line, to find out the scores..
shhh and today USA plays. Pray extra hard ok.
We had an awesome strike this week as gabriela and
diego (with the help of coach hermana alley) filled out their papers
and hand in hand we skipped to take out a turn... literally cheering
from the sideline.. or the otherside of the glass window as tehy signed
offically for the date of 11 de julio! exactly one month fromnow they
will be hitched! GOOOOOOOOALLLLLLL!!! to celebrate we fattened up
nicely with milenesas and mashed potatoes brownies and icecream. Our
team players are excited and content with their decision after 6 months
¨¨miracles happen when you believe¨ Now I have turned from head coach
to wedding planner, this should be fun :)
Goalie alley forgot to wear her mouth guard this
week...(or warmer clothing... dont worry mom my teeth are fine) and got
taken out of the game for half a day. On thursday
I ran a fever but nothing stops me so I didnt exactly tell my
companion. As my face would have it, it lights up like a little rudolf
nose on its own whether I am running, embarrased, cold or sick and my
comp turns out to be as stuborn as me... immediately I was put to bed
and three and a half hour laters I surfaced. After a year I took a
siesta!!! and only an hour later it was time to go back to bed. There
is nothing like a 13 1/2 hour night, I woke up to find myself an
energizer bunny not a missionary.. Now I can really run like the wind
(Happy Dads day!!!)
Uptop, Oman strikes the ball from the wing and boom,
the opposing enemy blocks it (satan)... not one... not two... not
three.. but four times. Saturday
we had the baptism of our good old friend omar. After the higly
anticipated day arrived he entered water that was almost an ice cub and
with a smile said it felt nice ¨¨que lindo es la agua¨ haha what a
tropper! but the poor thing just could get his whole body under the
water, however after four attempts, the referries called it a win....
OMAR WAS WASHED CLEAN. GOOOOOALLLLLL!!!
Well folks this week is transfers. IT will be a very
big celebration because it is the last time our whole mission will be
present to send off president carter. we receive our new one not this saturday
but the next. Who knows if I will be transfered I am praying no, as I
want to see gabriela and diego get married and baptized... we willl
see... I am looking forward to this week, lots of good old stuff!
Never have I wanted to watch soccer so bad.... I am sure it is the same for christine in Italy, People go WILD!!! FUTBOL!!!
