Every day makes a difference

At the end and beginning of a new week I look at this computer screen and feel like nothing of grand importance as passed by in just a week. and than my mind starts rolling of how many things really just happened and I feel like I cant type fast enough. Not one week goes by without making a difference in the mission, for me and for the people closest. Every day makes a difference, just a testimony builder that the small things really do matter the most.

To start out the week I went on divisions with hermana cleveland. she heads home next week. We did a very large amount of talking.. haha this is our second time together, just in different areas. One lesson we talked with a lady who I knew before hand wouldnt accept a bautismal date. Well I dont know why but this lady instantly loved me. She looked me deep in the eyes and told me that I was going to be someone very special someday and that I would be seen on the cover of a best selling book. She said she is never wrong at telling futures... haha I didnt know exactly how to react but I gained her coinvedince super fast and she ended up feeding us... that was just a bonus!  the lesson went really well as we taught all about bautismos for the dead and by the end of the lesson, It was time to invite her to be baptized. Without any effort with our words the spirit just hit her and she started planning who she was going to invite to the special occasion. It was such a miracle. It was really neat to be a part of such an experience where you can just seen someone change faces 100 percent in one lesson. Night to day difference. I really enjoyed spending time with hermana cleveland and will be super sad to see her leave.  Transfer news is tomorrow and we shall see what it brings. My guess... I am staying. haha

Saturday we had a open house at a neighboring elders chruch. That was interesting first experience. I dont know what happened, but the word wasnt spread all that well and not many made a showing. however there is always street contancts so we hit the streets offering tours, we had about 11 new investigatores for the mission at the end.  There are huge banners and we walk around explaining short church doctrine and principles inabout 15 mintues.  I learned you have to be really selective on what you want to say and testify. I felt a little of the visitor center experience... I guess its preparation to someday work on temple square.  It was fun getting to know people from teh neighboring stake.

Because the open house literally took all saturday we didnt have time to go to our lessons mantadory.  Every saturday is sacred in the mission as it is the last opportuninty to visit people before church.  Well we didnt have the privilege of having one... it made me and my comp a little worried. we couldnt get a hold of anyone the night before by calling them and we recieved a message at five in the morning saying that progressing investigator wouldnt be able to make it... we literally sat at eachother with blank faces.. well we are going to try the last option we have.  We prayed for a miracle and not long after we had a couple and their to kids walking to churhc with us.  usually we have to convince people to get out of bed, ready, and leave with us, however these two just opened the gate didnt say anything but lets go!  we didnt even have plans to go with them before. it was just a miracle!  but it wouldnt have happend if we wouldnt have shown our faith and tried knowing that the probablity was small they would go.  But look, our heavely father never falls short!

We had about thirty set lessons this week and about five ended up going through, it was a bit frustrating. However we found some miracles in our path as we found a lady who needed some cheering up on her birthday, a less active that was looking for the church, and the widow of a member. All from knocking doors from plans that fell through.

We are teaching a young mother who has the funniest chatter box child. She is three and knows everything, she tells funny things that her mom does and her mom just cant do anything about it.  well this week she said the prayer ¨God I love you so much, you are my very best friend, and I miss you a lot.¨ after the prayer she whispered in my ear  ¨¨I just loved the prayer, it was really pretty¨ when we were leaving she asked me if we were now headed to visit and talk with God. When I asked her what she thought she said, ¨¨yes but you need to go in an airplane because he lives in the clouds¨ when I asked how long it would take to get there she said ¨¨its not that far, about five mintues, could you telll him I love him.¨   She is adorable. Love her to death, she might just become my carry on one day in the future... :)
