if you think you dare not, you dont.
if youd like to win but you think you cant,
its almost a cinch you wont.
if you think youll lose, youve lost,
for out in the world we find
success being with a fellos will,
its all in the state of mind.
if you think youre outclassed you are,
youve got to be sure of yourself before
you can ever win a prize.
Lifes battles dont always go to the stronger or faster man,
but sooner or laterthe man who wins is the one who thinks he can.

chooo chooooooo chug chug chug choo choooo ¨¨we think we can, we
think we can, we think we can.¨ at teh beginning of this month hermana
tellez and I sat down together, our last minutes together and set the
goal for our beloved 25 de mayos baptisms this month of june. We felt
the impression really strongly that there are three very prepared futre
members amongst our stomping grounds. Well june brought a lot of
wearing and taring on the train tracks. Unexpected delays and
cancelings, hills steeper than expected and lengthy distnaces, but ¨two
missionaries sing as they bike and bike and bike, missionaries in 25
sing as they knock and knock and knock¨ okay ill tone down the dramatic,
this terrian isnt nearly as bad ast the usas, those poor pioneers and
one sore ragnar runner. but just as they reached the salt lkae valley
and bubbus finished her race (woot woot) we reached our home stretch on
our goal. Do we give up for the cold? NO. do we cry a little for the
lack of sleep, NO! because we think we can! What do we have to lose
anyways az few toew to frost bite, its fine weve got ten! and the wind
drys out any mositure in your eyes anyways, crys dont exist! SO
everyday this week we literally run from lesson to lesson, visting our
investigadores on date, almost losing some over there, and reasurring
some over here.
Well I am pleased to announce that this week our
rama now has four new members as of ysterday. ROCIO; ERIKA; JOSCELYN AND
FERNANDO Jumped on board! Completing with five confiramations in the
month of June. Living proof that nothing is impossible with God. Rocio
and Erika have been with me this whole 6 month adventure, but with the
correct iming of the Lord they were prepared for saturday
(picking the coldest time to enter the ice water...pero BUENO!).I have
realized this week that the more we give the more sacrifices we make and
the mroe we see flowing blessings of heaven. And by the end of the week
we realize that it really was no sacrice at all... exhausted as we are
we are happy. Its true missionary service isnt easy however it is
infinitely worth it. and in the process I have made friends for the
eternitys of all ages, shapes and nationalities! And that is the Plan
of Our heavenly father! Now more details on the baptism saturday...
we are in the process of mving chrucfes, with
horrible planning we found ourselves without our water heateer. We
literally thought up every option... even down to callng the firemen to
pay them to fill their trucks with hot water and coming to pput it in
our font. TKhe second part of baptism is with ¨¨fire¨ anways... I
thought we could get away with it... but some members thought it was a
little Extreme. doest that vocabulary word exist as an alley? so instead
we decided to attempt to use a really old heater in the church.
hermana and I turned it on with the hose conneceted to the font found
nothing but stemming fog, where is the water? WE looked at eachother
puzzled until we heater box starts smoking horribly and starts shaking,
ovur reaction... RUN ITS GOING TO EXPLODE! we sprint out of the room
until I realize that it probably isnt the beset idea to blow up the
church... I count to three rsay a prayer and run like 007 to the box,
literally punch it off, flip the switch gas and ninja leap towards the
door. all is safe and soundd. Breathe... nope a pipe than breaks and we
find the water... flowing out all over the church. No way to stop it,
so in this moment we decide...its time to call for help! SOS president
ashton! haha so turns out the baptism was moved, we called the only
pick uptruck intown that wasnt being used in the fields and hauled the
font to the ashtons house. where dide we do the baptism? in their
garadge! and we smashed everyone into their family room. but all is
well that ends well. turned out to be a ton of work but everything ran
very smoothly and the service was perfect! The new converts are content
and as happy as ever! QUE BENDICION!
Here in 25 de mayo we literally prepare baptisms...
If we had a tub that probably would have been our best option.. haha We
get creative here. Now this week we are in the process of moving
buildings! we are all to crammed into our house, and have found an old
shoe factory to spiffy up and make into a church...right in front of an
envalegio chruch! woot woot!
The adventures continue, and this week I have never
been so happy and blessed! :) and onto July we go.... I will surely
miss the USA for the 4th.. celebrate it well for me!
Hermana Alley
This family has my heart strings. Monica and simon (mom and dad) tia
rocio (baptized) Erika (baptized) and the youngest delfina. (6 years
olD) she cried herself to sleep that night because she wanted to be
baptized... ADORABLE!
(Editor's note: Hermana Alley's Spanish is coming along quite nicely. How do I know? Her English is becoming atrocious. Spellings have been left in their original format for your enjoyment!)
